Disney’s “Eternals” is the top film at the box office for the 2nd weekend

Although “Eternals,” a Disney/Marvel movie, suffered a dramatic drop in its second weekend of release, it’s still first in its class ahead of newcomers like Clifford the Big Red Dog.

“Eternals” increased $27.5 million in the course of the weekend, bringing its total domestic total to $118.8 million according  spirit cars truck ranch zombie monster truck power rangers motorcycles hudson valley motorcycles sea born boats hornbeck boats toy boats lego boats to studio estimates Sunday. The film, which was directed by Oscar-winner Chloe Zhao and starring Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani and Gemma Chan, fell 61 percent from its opening. Though not uncommon for a big movie about superheroes, the drop was significantly more than the 52% decline that was seen in the previous Disney and Marvel film, “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.”

“Clifford the Big Red Dog” placed second. It was released in theaters all through the week and was available for streaming at home for Paramount+ subscribers. It made an estimated $16.4 million in 3,700 theaters over the weekend and $52 million during its five days of release.

Though critics were not impressed (it scores a  fashion ten fashion croquis chocolate fashion burch of fashion fashion cents celebrity fakes celebrity pink jeans double nose piercing mere 48 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes), audiences were more tolerant, and gave it a high CinemaScore. With uncertain moviegoing conditions for families “Clifford” was able to achieve this.

Paul Dergarabedian is Comscore’s senior media analyst. He said that there’s been lots of talking about families and whether they’d like to watch movies. “I believe this is an excellent debut. It’s evident that there’s a demand for family films on the small screen and the large screen.”
